Advanced Fiction Editing 301 GROUP COURSE

(1 customer review)

In this course, you will learn not only what elements are required in an engaging novel, but why. For example, we often tell writers to begin with action. Why? Because action stimulates adrenaline, which keeps readers turning pages.

This course will cover a variety of common character and plot weaknesses that new writers often demonstrate, including unlikeable protagonists, unsatisfying endings, and viewpoint slips. It will cover how to help writers choose between omniscient viewpoint and deep point of view. With the latter, it will teach how to deepen character viewpoint to maximize reader engagement.

The hands-on editing of classics (how fun!) and astute feedback were wonderful! Thanks, Kristen (and PEN), for this great class. I learned so much. You’re a good teacher, and I always know you’ll be forthright. I truly appreciate that about you. Thanks!
